Crazy busy week... here is a taste of what's going on in my world.
- Had some incredible conversations with people new to The Gateway. So impressed with the people God keeps sending our way. We are overflowing with potential.
- A brand new, grass-roots, city-wide, multi-sensory worship gathering is coming to Des Moines.
- First ever “Vision Night” last Sunday! Shared some amazing stories from The Gateway and put together a video clip with some friends like Scott and Ben giving us props. We also put together our first Annual Report!
- The Des Moines Register ran a great article on Gateway on the front page of the "Iowa Life" section on Sunday. Can't beat this kind of publicity!
- Skye Jethani interviews Rob Bell on the art of preaching. So grateful I attended Poets, Prophets and Preachers last year - probably the most beneficial conference I’ve ever attended.
- We’re kicking off small groups this weekend! Ten brand new small groups meeting throughout the city for prayer, laughter, Bible study, support, and service to our community and our world.
- Our first small group sermon discussion guide came together nicely!
- Took my wife to Alba for our weekly date last night; first half was all business, second half was pure joy.
- This weekend, we’ll be exploring the Song of Creation (Genesis 1) and during our opening worship we’ll be taking some time to write Valentines letters to women & children around our city who suffering from domestic violence and abuse.
Paul,
After reading the Des Moines Register article, there was one point that I'd to ask you to clarify. It mentioned one young man (Drake law student) attending your church who does not believe in the divinity of Jesus. I can understand "seekers" not being yet convinced of this fact, but the article seemed to suggest that this young man could embrace this view and be considered a believer with no questions asked (not really an important issue). If I may ask, how would you deal with someone who does not believe in the divinity of Christ?
Thank you.

Glad to hear you liked Poets, Prophets, Teachers. I really wanted to see this. Can't wait to see it when it comes to DVD.
