There is nothing quite as life-changing as a mission trip.
A small group of travelers leave the comforts of suburban America with a mission to reach some far and distant land with the gospel. And maybe teach the people there a thing or two - you know, help them out a bit.
Inevitably the people who board the plane are not the ones who return. Through sleepless flights, unpredictable meals, awkward conversations with airport security, and terrifying expeditions through third-world traffic in 16-passenger vans - your life is forever changed. Whatever you went there hoping to teach is lost in the pain and the chaos and the uncertainty of this new land - and is replaced with a world that is infinitely more complex and devastatingly beautiful.
This is "The Great Reverse"
But if you’ve ever been on one of these trips before you know how hard this is to explain to the people at home once you’ve returned.
Well, now you can show them.
My good friends from Fearless Films have just released their second film following nine of these travelers as they aim to make a change in West Africa. Throughout the film you experience all of their emotions along with them and watch as their lives begin to change, right before your eyes.
Nomad Films is an amazing project and if you are thinking of
putting together a trip in your church, I’d highly recommend experiencing this
first.
