Hello fellow blog readers. As you know, we're starting a new church downtown Des Moines and we need some help. If you, or someone you know fits this description give me a call!
The Gateway Church is committed to seeking a renewed approach to Christian spirituality and the teachings of Jesus. We are a brand new, missional church community reaching urban professionals, young families, students and emerging artists. Our church will seek to create expressions of worship that become tangible encounters with God. Through the word, the body, the sacraments, art, prayer, and music we will seek to create holy space where people can encounter the living Christ.
Praise and worship through song will be an integral part of our worship services. Our vision is to provide an environment of excellence and expectation, so that God is lifted and honored in our lives, community and city.
The Worship Arts Director is responsible for creating and leading weekend worship services; developing a passionate and reverent style of worship, which is multi-sensory, highly participative, utilizing multiple styles, and multiple historical traditions in worship, combining songs from the ancient church with songs from our own musicians and the contemporary church; this person will lead the creative team and process, lead musicians, vocalists, and artists, and lead the congregation into shared life-changing encounters with God.
The Worship Director will work closely with the Lead Pastor to create highly engaging Sunday morning sermon series which include: set designs, creative arts, cutting-edge media, lighting, sound and relevant music that fit the theme.
Candidates should have a passion for Jesus, exceptional leadership and communication skills, ample experience leading a band, strong vocals, musical training (bachelor’s degree is preferred), audio / visual expertise, and a desire to pursue an adventure with a bold new church.
Please send music samples and resume to The Gateway Community Church, PO Box 93066, Des Moines, IA 50393.
Sounds like an incredible undertaking, and I love the vision and heart of the church. Would you accept resume/samples submitted online or just through?
