I had an incredible time at Catalyst last week. God really used this time to do some
really deep stuff in my heart. He challenged me on so many different levels.
Here are a few highlights:
- Really thankful that I was able to experience Catalyst with my wife. While I get exposure to guys like Andy Stanley, Craig Groeschel, and Steven Furtick on a regular basis this was her first opportunity. So cool to see God at work in my wife!
- So great to chat with Ben Arment. I follow his blog religiously and he has really become a ‘virtual mentor’ in my life. Thankful for his passion to equip and empower next generation leaders.
- Had a three-way conversation with Ed Stetzer and Mark Batterson about church planting and writing. Ed asked, “Why did you shut down FutureAG? You guys rocked!”
- I had the opportunity to share my dream with Vince Antonucci and Jon Tyson, two church planters I deeply admire.
- Dave Ferguson bought me not one, not two, but three meals. Gotta love the New Thing Network!
- I was so moved by Jud Wilhite and Mike Foster. Those guys are the real deal.
- Jessica and I got to hang out with Scott Hodge and Mike Jones from the Orchard. I am so thankful for their friendship.
- Ran into Jeff Leake and met this guy’s father-in-law.
- Day one of the main event was the most powerful lineup of speakers I've ever heard in my life. Honestly, I will never be the same.
- Had a great time hanging out with my new friend Josh Singleton and Tom Jacobs. Tom is our district superintendent and on the flight to Atlanta he asked us, “what can we do together to reach Des Moines?” I think God really used this trip to give us some answers.
- Already trying to figure out how to get myself to Catalyst West Coast.
So what did ED say we should do next?
